What I mean by this is that students essentially expect to receive a job and money after graduation because of their Energy Management degree. I know this isn't necessarily a diagram of a vicious circle, but it can be incorporated. For example, reaction, without understanding; Students enter the program because of the high reputation for job and career opportunities. This is where the fatal cycle of “assumption” comes in, they assume that by getting this title, they will be guaranteed internships or full-time positions because they are an energy management major. They put off committing to TEMSA, they put off applying for internships, and they procrastinate on school work. However, they tend not to notice any movement in their flywheel, but other students who provide consistent work and dedication tend to get more interviews, better grades, and their networks are growing. Halfway through the semester they change direction and habits, but it's too late; their GPA suffered and they were not offered a summer internship.
