This, combined with my experiences growing up in a developing country, exposed me to problems accessing care resulting from economic inabilities and poor medical infrastructure. Problems with access to quality care are a global plague. Medical care as it stands seems more like a privilege than a right. Through medical training at Georgetown, I intend to equip myself with the tools to make the transition to the latter. The emphasis the curriculum places on patient care and care for the underserved is what appeals to me most
