The early 1800s certainly saw the creation of a new form of communication with the volatile invention known as the telegraph. It may have arrived almost halfway through the 1800s in 1845, but it would forever change the outcome of the political and cultural wars between America and foreigners and even the most monumental domestic squabble in history, the Civil War. Just three years after the invention of the telegraph, America went to war with Mexico over ownership of several territories now known as California, New Mexico, and Arizona. Unfortunately for Mexico, the loss of these three territories meant the loss of 1/3 of their supposed overall control over the developing nation known as America. Nearly 25 years after the 3 Territory War, another war convened when the United States was split down the middle over the role slavery should play in the shaping of their country.
