Before Thanksgiving break, I think there should be very little celebration of Christmas. In my mind, the things that happen during the Thanksgiving season are separate from the celebration of Christmas, but the entire marketing campaign would beg to differ; Christmas commercials and music are broadcast on television channels during the Thanksgiving period. In the case of the Christmas show here in Monmouth, there is an exception. There is very little time between returning from Thanksgiving break and leaving for Christmas break; this time is usually occupied by final exams and preparation for them. For these reasons it makes sense to put on a Christmas show before the break, and I consider attending the show an exception to my usual dislike of things that happen before the appointed time. The technical aspects of the show (set design, clothing design, etc.) were done well given the context.
