Forest E. Witcraft once said “A hundred years from now, it won't matter what my bank account was, what kind of house I lived in, or what kind of car I drove . But the world could be different because I was important in the life of a child." Many people think that "Those who can, do, those who cannot teach" (What teachers do), but what these people don't know is how much hard work and training is needed to become an effective and successful teacher. Career Description Elementary School teachers are not only responsible for academic achievement, but are also responsible for providing students with a stable, clean, and safe learning environment. On a normal day teachers will respond to at least thirty emails, these emails will come from parents, fellow teachers and administrators. Nowadays, email is the easiest and fastest way of communication for teachers. Elementary school teachers evaluate students' academic performance and are able to teach whole class or small groups. Realistically teachers work for the school district, but teachers work primarily for their students. Mrs. Jill Cooper, a second grade teacher at McDowell Mountain, said the best part of her job is "When you can see that the kids are making progress, when they're actually learning what they're trying to teach them, and especially when they're struggling, struggling, struggling and suddenly they understand.
