The first thing in building a house is to select the plot and prepare it. The land must be cleared of trees and bushes and leveled to ensure a level building area. This process is usually called digging and grading. This is usually a very quick process but can be expensive depending on the job. Additionally the soil must be well developed, meaning the soil is not too wet and is safe for a structure and allows for the installation of a septic tank that will function properly. the next step is to survey the land. When the land is surveyed, you will find out where the property lines are and will also have the footer laid out and ready to dig. After the footing has been prepared and filled with concrete, the next step is to pour the foundation. The materials used are usually bricks or blocks. The foundation must meet certain codes established by the county. The inspector will need to inspect the foundation before the construction process can proceed. After the foundation passes inspection, the next step for the home is framing. The framing process is probably the fastest part of building a house.
