Thesis: Edgar Allen Poe was an American poet, writer, editor, short story writer critic, thrill seeker and influenced many great writers and poets, some made award-winning films from the stories they have written and continue to do just that. Introduction: Edgar spent many years writing and learning American literature. He simply loved to write, that's why he did so many different things in the writing profession. He influenced many famous writers etc. so he is a very influential man and his name lives as a legendBiography:Paragraph 1: Edgar Allen Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts (January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) He had one sister (Rosalie) and one brother (Henry) his parents were David and Elizabeth Poe, his mother died in 1811 and his father went to live with his grandparents while Edgar was adopted by his "divine father" John Allan and his wife, they had no children.Paragraph 2: When Edgar was 6 years old he went to live in England and went to school there for 5 years. He later returned to America in 1826 and attended the University of Virginia. Even though his father had a lot of money, he only gave Edgar about a third of what he needed. Edgar soon fell into debt and began drinking heavily and gambling, he left school less than a year. Paragraph 3: He went to Boston where he published a pamphlet of youthful Byronic poems, "Tanner lane" and others. Work: Paragraph 1: Edgar had no money and no work skills, so he decided to join the US Army and did quite well, kept the rank of Sergeant Major and they changed his name from Edgar Allan Poe to Edgar Allan Perry , after the death of his adoptive mother John Allan bought his release and burned his West Point candidate before starting his military service he wrote "Al Aaraaf"...... in the center of the paper...... previously.
