Murder? Mercy killing? Or rather an immoral act? These problems have generated an ethical issue that has created chaos around the world. This is known as euthanasia and has been defined as a practice of intentionally ending someone's life by injecting them with substances to end their suffering. Euthanasia is one of the most provocative and talked about topics in the media today. It is morally unacceptable considering it could easily end up on a slippery slope and cause chaos among doctors, their terminally ill patients and their families. No human being will have the right to decide whether or not a person should be subjected to euthanasia, which is why it is morally unacceptable.b) SUMMARY This case study will talk about Wim Disetelmans, a Belgian doctor who has treated dozens of of euthanasia cases years. He practices in Belgium, Brussels and has created a name for himself. He is known as the most “famous” doctor to ever deal with euthanasia cases according to Graeme Hamilton of the National Post. Many of his patients suffered from incurable diseases, but others may have taken the easy way out by requesting euthanasia to end their lives. One of the most popular cases involves Nathan Verhelst, 44, who was born Nancy and decided to end his life because he said he was “not happy with the changes”. She also said she couldn't bear to look at herself in the mirror because she felt reluctant with her new look. He was becoming a monster and didn't want to live like this anymore because he was becoming depressed and couldn't bear to suffer anymore. Many said he had no right to administer lethal injections to patients suffering from incurable diseases...... middle document ......nt of the Federal Control Commission which means he is completely biased and evaluates the limits of euthanasia itself. “It is becoming very dangerous to give so much power to one person, explains Chris Gastmans, professor of medical ethics at the Catholic University of Louvain” (QUOTE 1). Furthermore, Marc Van Hoey, "doctor and president of the Flemish death with dignity group like RWS" also states that Doctor Disetelmans wants a little too much attention and perhaps seeks everyone's agreement with his thoughts on euthanasia.c) ANALYSIS Considering that my articles have both pros and cons against euthanasia, I will focus my argument on what Marc Van Hoey and Chris Gastmans have argued.
