In the United States, the military is an important part of people's lives. The military is not just about shooting and fighting, but more importantly about protecting America which many people believe is a free country. Yes, Americans have rights and have the freedom to do certain things, but military members like Air Force aviators are the ones who protect these rights for their fellow citizens. There are some people who don't know that there are five military branches in the United States. Of the five military branches the one that stands out the most is the United States Air Force. The Air Force stands out the most because it is the branch that demands the most, physically and mentally, from a person wanting to enlist. In 1947, the United States Air Force was full of history and full of determined airmen helping America through the air and land. Aeronautics has not always been a branch in itself. The Air Force began with only a few members and gradually increased its size after being named the official military branch of the United States. Before becoming an independent branch, the United States Army had a small division dedicated to maintaining aerial machinery and transporting equipment where needed. During World War I the number of people attempting to join the Army increased rapidly, and in 1947 Congress decided it was necessary to separate the Air Force from the "foot combat soldiers" fighting for America ("Fact Sheet: The Birth of the United States Air Force"). The Air Force began as a small branch but once it had many members, core values were established and over the years these values are applied more and more. Core Values are the daily guidelines that every Airman is expected to follow. These values are... half of the paper... help Mrs. Lopez. This means that jobs in the Air Force will be more competitive but people who meet the requirements will potentially be able to get a job with them. Skills learned in the military are valued by employers outside of the military, meaning someone can get a job more easily after serving. The demand for work is high, but only in the Air Force will there be jobs for interested people, and for those aviators who want to try their career, there are more opportunities for them. To summarize, the Air Force is a great career path a person can take. The Air Force is history and many people want to be part of history. Don't think that the Air Force is just about flying planes and jets because there's a lot more to it than just airplanes. It teaches many skills, it's a sense of pride for some and what's better than serving the country to defend the freedom we all value?!
