The face of education is changing over time. Education hangs by a thread because as technology advances, some individuals do not take it as seriously as others. It's an easy thing for some people to go on the Internet and find answers to any problem they might have, but it takes a smart person to actually read the answer. This seems to be the problem today. Furthermore, people do not read books and acquire less and less intellectual knowledge, which undoubtedly harms our society. Books must be read because they contain important information that enlightens people's intelligence and does not create confusion like the Internet. Because of Internet sites like Google or Spark Notes, books are known but not read. Within seconds we are able to find an answer. But what's the point of getting the answer if you're not learning? That's what's different about the books. You have to read to actually find the answer. You will never be smart if you don't read. No matter where you will receive your education, you will be required to read books, which is good. During your education books will be helpful in gaining a better understanding of education. Professors don't make you buy books just to torture you. They make you buy them because they know that not only will they help you learn from them, but you will gain more knowledge for the future. Not all books are boring and there are all types. They range from primary sources to secondary sources to fiction and nonfiction. Some authors make their books interesting so you don't get bored. It's good to learn from books because they don't lie like some things on the internet for... half a sheet of paper... find the answer you are gaining knowledge from. We can't stop technological advances, but we can start enriching our minds by reading more books. It's not only a benefit for you, but also for our society. Just think about it. A person can read his books and get A's in his classes, or you don't read and fail the course, making your college dropout rate higher. After reading a book, you can share your knowledge with the world and spread it. Next time, before you pick up a game controller or remote control, pick up a book and start reading it because a book is a blessing. Works Cited Douglas, Frederick. “Learning to read”.
