Nonverbal communication problems between professors and students can occur in many different ways, whether nonverbal, verbal, or cultural. Miscommunication is a serious problem, no matter who you're with. When professors and students communicate nonverbally there can be many problems and one may misinterpret what the other person says or means, which can cause problems between the two. Sending emails is the most common way to misunderstand what is said between professors and students since it is used so much now days. “Dynamics of Email Communications Among College Students During a Semester,” written by Shahadat Uddin states, Email is considered to be one of the most widely accepted computer-mediated communication tools among college students. Evidence from the current literature shows that students carry out a significant portion of their course-related communications (e.g. discussing a topic with peers) using this tool.
