AllegiantBeatrice Prior is one of the two main characters in this book. She is described as daunting and courageous. Tris (her nickname) has brown hair and is described as beautiful (from Tobias' perspective). She is very curious and usually looks at the glass half full. His nickname, Six, is based on the fact that he only has 6 fears. She has a boyfriend, Tobias, who goes by "Four" for the exact same reason. Tris is a divergent, as we learn in the book, meaning she has healed genes. Her brother, Caleb, betrayed her and her family, and now that he's back in her life, she's not so sure about him anymore. “…so that he can't poison it like he did with everything else.” (36%). This is just a brief explanation of Tris Prior. The main idea of Allegaint is that we must learn to accept each other's differences. At the beginning of the book, the main characters simply thought that Divergent and Non-Divergent existed. When they left their city (Chicago) they learned that there were only GPs (genetically pure people) and GDs (genetically damaged people). Tris discovered that she was a family doctor, but her friends were all GD. There was conflict outside of the experiments (cities like where Tris grew up) about treating GDs differently than GPs. At the end of the book, Tris and her friends set the record straight about the different treatment of GPs and GDs. This book is in first person, although it is a little different than most books. Instead of there being one person telling the story, there are two people. Three of a kind and Four. The two change point of view almost every two chapters. Even if there are two people telling the story, it is always in the first person. The next quote is from chapter 34 and Tris is talking. ““I didn't know you would be... middle of paper......- lacking clarity Connotative- silent, almost scared or sneaky• Captivating page. 243- Denotative- evokes or attracts interestConnotative- beautiful and surprising • Tyrant pag. 314- Denotative- a ruler who uses power unjustlyConnotative- an evil ruler who has taken power by force•Ruin pg. 346-Denotative- hurt an objectConnotative- destroy harshly•Laugh pag. 358-Denotative- a way of expressing pleasureConnotative- happiness and joy•Pistol pag. 439-Denotative- a weaponConnotative- despicable and evil object/intruder or evil person•Light pag. 463-Denotative- something that makes things visibleConnotative- good times are coming• Friend pag. 525-Denotative- a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal consideration Connotative- family, someone with whom you can share all your secrets and share memories
