This report is about the introduction and globalization of mobile phones and how they ultimately affect our society today. I will detail the origins of the first telephones, including the innovative and creative minds who were the first inventors of the device, to how the modern cell phone was created and used to this day. It is critical to understand that without established “networks” our current cell phones would be essentially useless. These “3G/4G” networks are what allow us to stay connected within the telecommunications-based environment that we, as people, live in today. As a precursor to the introduction of electronic telephones, many people used various mechanical hearing devices for the purpose of communicating over great distances. For example, pipes were in common use, as were telephones.
