A quick summary of the movie “My Doctor, My Lover” and what I understood what the movie was about. A 30-year-old woman feels depressed and guilty about a recent extramarital affair. He goes to a psychiatrist, but his condition continues to worsen. After a year and a half, she leaves therapy with him following an argument in his office about how she and the doctor feel about each other. Then they begin a sexual relationship. Dr. Jason Richter of Colorado admitted to having sex with his former patient, Melissa Roberts-Henry. The dispute was whether he took advantage of her condition, as the lawsuit said, or whether she entered the relationship voluntarily, as she said. Even though this film was made in 1991, it was a powerful portrait of what is ethical in a psychiatrist. and its relationship with the customer. I believe what Dr. Richter did was completely unethical and should have had more sanctions against him and not his insurance. I believe that most people who find the courage to consult a psychiatrist are vulnerable and fragile and should be treated with care. This doctor didn't do that. He only had his well-being in mind, that is, having a sexual conquest. I would hate to call a woman weak-minded, but it was clear from watching the film that she might have some of these characteristics and might be prone to suggestibility and easily let it go. be open to influence and exploitation. This is exactly what happened. I think the Doctor was aware of this and took advantage of her mood and upset. I believe because she came to see him in such a state that he worked out to cause mental damage. I was surprised that the relationship lasted 3 years and that it took her husband that long to notice her depressed state. ...... in the center of the card ...... eats, abuses or intimidates the other. The doctor isolated her from friends and family. She became suicidal, depressed and started cutting herself. What's even more hypercritical is that he even wrote in his notes that having sex with her would be destructive to her. In conclusion, I am shocked that the doctor was able to free himself. Yes, his insurance took a hit, but it should have been his fault. In my experience with a psychiatrist, I have never had one approach me in a sexual way. I believe it has been done, I would try to find a new psychiatrist and possibly report it to the hospital to resolve the issue. I would be interested if there were any current cases involving doctors and their clients' sexual behavior. I honestly believe this is why ethics laws were enacted. It's because of doctors like this who think it's okay to do what they want.
