Through reading William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the reader finds detail, diction, and symbolism to convey the theme regardless of whether it is motivated by love or fear, deceptions and secrets can be destructive. At the beginning of the play, Shakespeare creates a conflict in which Romeo, son of the Montague family, and Juliet, daughter of the Capulet family, are in love with each other but have the obstacle that their families are in conflict with each other . other. The conflict becomes oblivious to them due to their passionate love for each other. One night, when the lovers meet for the first time, Romeo is already trying to entrust his life to her and Juliet responds: "If your inclination to love is honorable, / Your purpose is marriage, send me a message tomorrow, / For one that I will." let him come to you, / Where and at what time you will perform the rite; / And I will lay all my fortunes at your feet / And I will follow you, my lord, throughout all the world” (II.ii.143-148). Shakespeare's details in this quote clearly show the enthusiasm that Juliet has for Romeo, especially if she is willing to follow him for the rest of her life. Romeo and Juliet want to get married but realize that their families will not approve of their marriage. So they choose to escape in secret so that their families don't find out. It is obvious that Juliet will put her future in Romeo's hands because of her love for him and they are motivated to do anything, regardless of the consequences, just to be together. Romeo and Juliet are driven by love to keep this secret from everyone due to the hatred between the two families and do not use their conscience to notice the consequences that will come. In the next act, the deep mutual passion between the two lovers continues and causes Romeo to behave abnormally. Another way Shakespeare develops his theme is with diction. Act III begins with Tybalt seeking out Romeo due to his anger at Romeo attending a Capulet feast. Romeo shows up and Tybalt wants to fight Romeo in which he resists and says he has a reason to love and not feel the anger he normally should. Tybalt says that Romeo's words cannot make up for what he has done to him and he wants to fight.
