Pakistani society has always been conservative and traditional; one who often vehemently opposes any new ideal or proposal that even remotely challenges society's status quo. In Pakistan's conservative society, sex tops the list of topics that are largely avoided and considered taboo. Globalization, which has led to widespread dominance of Western culture and promoted freedom of speech and expression, has proved instrumental in breaking this age-old taboo and inciting the controversial debate over sex education in Pakistan. This often leads to immature and unwise decisions regarding one's sex life and well-being. Even after puberty, lack of knowledge about sexual matters can be quite harmful, sometimes even fatal.
