Los Angeles County has something for everyone. From its derivative history to its plethora of entertainment options, it is one of the best-known counties in Southern California. According to HighBeam Research, “Los Angeles County is the largest manufacturing center in the nation” (HighBeam Research, LLC.). Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles are often confused with each other, however, the City of Los Angeles is located in Los Angeles County. Los Angeles is advancing every minute, which is why it is the most populous county in the United States. The county seat of Los Angeles County is the city of Los Angeles, which is also the largest city in California and the second largest in the United States behind New York City (HighBeam Research, LLC.). Los Angeles County in Southern California includes a rich history, stable government, and large cities with a wide variety of entertainment options. The history of Los Angeles County is very significant. It has been studied that the rock formation of what is now Los Angeles formed approximately 1.7 billion years ago (Los Angeles Almanac). Native Americans inhabited Los Angeles for a few thousand years and then Europeans arrived. Some of the Los Angeles explorers were Juan Cabrillo, Sebastian Vizcaino and Gasper de Portola (LA Tourism & Convention Board). Europeans arrived around 1540 and colonized the area for the Spanish. The Spanish Empire built many ranches and missions throughout Southern California. At the time in Los Angeles, “the Spanish period was dominated by vast ranchos, the result of land grants.” The Spanish also built the Los Angeles River which today flows through LA County (Steen, Francis F.). One of the many historical figures who impacted Los Angeles during this time was Felipe De Neve. Governing... at the center of the map... a significant history, a stable government and important cities that make it a well-known county not only in California, but also in the United States. Los Angeles attracts people from all over the world making it so popular. Its rich history will always be remembered. The county government that will always be known in a positive way. The beautiful cities that make up Angel County will never be forgotten. The diversity that people love will continue to grow. Los Angeles may have its downsides, however, it is for the most part a unique and exquisite county that Southern Californians will forever love. It is a huge part of the state and has made the state of California one of the most populous states in the country. Without Los Angeles in the United States, the country would probably be a somewhat boring place. It's a blessing to live in such a place.
