Topic > Analysis of Casa Gaudi - 882

Audi's style could be described as a mix of Art Nouveau and its own unique organic style, influenced by shapes and structures from the natural world. One of Gaudi's most impressive and beautiful buildings is Casa Batlló. Gaudí designed the building for Josep Batlló, a wealthy aristocrat, as an exclusive home. He had asked Gaudì to demolish the old one to rebuild a new one. Gaudí managed to convince Battló to renovate the existing building instead of demolishing it, and between 1904 and 1906 he redesigned the facade and roof, added an extra floor, and completely renovated the interior. This building clearly illustrated Gaudi's work. His use of flowing organic lines is evident and can be seen in my details in the structure. There are no sharp edges or straight lines but the walls give the sensation of a membrane made of ceramic, or rather of ocean waves. Much of the facade is decorated with mosaics made up of tiles that start in shades of golden orange and then move to greenish blue. Not only that, it also appears to be made up of bones and stones. The "Skulls" are in fact balconies and the "bones" are load-bearing pillars. Upon entering the building, viewers are greeted by a wide, curved staircase, which leads to the second floor of the building and the main rooms of the Batlló apartment. Where the roof is made as if it were the backbone of a huge reptile. In the center of the building, Gaudí enlarged the existing patio and installed a large skylight. He placed the elevator shaft and stairs here, incorporating a way to evenly distribute light throughout the building. The long gallery of the main suite, the Piano Nobile, overlooking Passeig de Gràcia, is composed of windows with wooden frames that open and close...... middle of paper......m nature, therefore the best The best way to honor God is to design buildings based on his work. Although George Orwell called the church "one of the most hideous buildings in the world". I would disagree because; Antonio Gaudí being at the pinnacle of modern art, shows us that the key element of his work comes from the simplicity and beauty of nature. After looking at his work, each of the buildings clearly shows his chain of thoughts. I am truly fascinated by his work, but above all by his imagination. As for how he combines what he sees and hears in his buildings, making them such surrealistic compositions. It's interesting because for the world architecture means straight lights, straight buildings, but for me Gaudi completely revolutionized the world of architecture. In conclusion I would say that Gaudi was a visionary and one of the geniuses of our time.
