History, geography and demographyThe Republic of Singapore is a sovereign republican state located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, between Malaysia and Indonesia. Singapore's history dates back to 1298-1299 AD, known as Temasek ("Sea City"). Modern Singapore was founded in the 19th century. On 9 August 1965, Singapore left the Federation of Malaya and gained independence as the Republic of Singapore. Singapore has a total area of 697 km2, of which 687 km2 is land and 10 km2 is water. The country is made up of 63 islands and the largest offshore island is Pulau Tekong (2,442.6 hectares). Singapore's public green areas exceed 9,500 hectares, covering approximately 13.6% of Singapore's total land area. The climate in Singapore is hot and humid, and since Singapore is almost close to the equator, it has no particular seasons. The temperature is stable throughout the year, with an average high temperature of 87.8°F and an average low temperature of 75.4°F. The warmest weather occurs in April, and the average humidity level is 84.1%. Singapore is a relatively small country and natural resources are limited. Notable natural resources include fish and deep-water harbors. In 2012, the total population of Singapore was 5,312.4 thousand, including 3,818.2 thousand Singapore citizens and permanent residents. The ethnic composition includes 74.2% Chinese, 13.3% Malays, 9.2% Indians and 3.3% others. Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil. English is widely used in business, government and schools. Economy, political environment and culture In 2012, Singapore's GDP is approximately US$346.5 billion. Compared to 1.9% in Australia, 4.4% in Japan and 2.4%...middle of the paper...4.5% to 7.5%, and regular consumption it increased slightly from 2.9% to 3.1%. Driving while intoxicated will also receive various sanctions. Under current law in Singapore, violators can be punished with a maximum fine of $30,000 and a mandatory prison term of up to 3 years. They can also receive up to six strokes of the cane. Caning is a form of punishment in Singapore that can cause serious injury. Based on my research, there is no designated driver service company in the current Singapore market. The new designated driver service company will provide not only drink-drive service, but also child pick-up/drop-off service or other appropriate forms of driver service. Customers can book via website, phone or mobile apps. Since Singapore is a relatively small country, the company can serve its customers quickly and cheaply.
