Education in SpartaDid you know that in Sparta, when a child was born, if the "inspectors" were not satisfied that the child was strong enough, then they were left out to die (Document A)? This is the beginning of education in Sparta. If you die, you lose. But if you can survive the first part of Spartan life, then you're pretty much good to go, right? ...Wrong! If you were born in a militarily strong city-state called Sparta, being left on the street to die was just one of the difficult challenges you faced, with many more to come. Reading and writing were taught the bare minimum, just enough to be able to give and receive orders in battle. Math and science weren't even taught! Furthermore, the government has not allowed any plays or shows in fear that people will realize how bad their government is. This is a very bad sign because if the government knows that what it is doing is wrong, then it shows that it does not care about its own people. Please note: this is just an example.
