Think about the first man to set foot on the Moon, Neil Armstrong? Think about all the drones we've sent to Mars or even the International Space Station? Think about all the great discoveries made in our universe? NASA was founded in 1958, which means it is now more than 70 years old. A big question circulating in the United States is whether NASA should get more or less budget funding. This question has been around for a long time, but no one has yet tried to answer it or done much about it. Many people even think that NASA should receive less funding and that it shouldn't exist. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an Original Essay Let's talk about why people think NASA shouldn't get more funding. The bigger statement is how we shouldn't spend on space exploration when we have bigger problems to work on on earth. Many people say we should invest that money in education or even helping the homeless population. Or how we could use that money to try to help stop pollution and make the earth a better place to live. They also say that there is no need for us to explore space or even invest any more money to go to the Moon or Mars. The search for another life is futile and we must focus on what is here and not look for other things. That we could spend our money on many of these things to improve our lives on earth and make the earth a better place to live not only for us but for generations to come. NASA only explores space and doesn't really help us with anything. How does NASA's budget compare to other government-funded things? Over the past two years, NASA's budget has slowly increased. In 2020 NASA's budget will be around $22 billion, which is a billion more this year than last year, and it's good to know that they're putting more money into NASA. That 22 billion still represents only zero point five percent of all the financing America provides(). Back when we were the first man to step on the moon, NASA received 4.5% of the budget, imagine if they still received that much. While the Department of Defense receives about 693 billion dollars, which is 31.5 times more than what NASA receives in a year and more than half of all funding, and in 2020 it expects to obtain over 700 billion dollars. Why take money from NASA when there is so much more you could take from the Department of Defense to use for other things, why does it have to be a NASA budget? Imagine if we could invest so much money in our education systems or even help the homeless, then everyone would be able to receive an amazing education and help prepare our next generations perfectly and there wouldn't be a night where a homeless they would starve or even sleep on the streets. The Department of Defense has wasted hundreds of millions of dollars buying expensive things that never get finished or that we don't cut costs on to try to save money. It was also reported that 80% of the projects were finished or feasible, which shows how they are wasting all five taxpayer dollars, imagine all that money we could be spending on other things. We could put all that money into funding people who really want it instead of wasting it. Imagine what NASA could do if it had the budget of the Department of Defense. Is our society more advanced than we think? NASA estimated that about 450 would be neededbillion to send a crew to Mars. So if it had the military budget, it would have enough to send a crew to Mars and still have plenty left over to do other cool things. They could use this money to create better telescopes to help explore our vast, expanding universe. We could use that money to find a better way to send spaceships into space. Or even look for new, less economical ways of traveling in space. We could also do something to upgrade the international space station and make it better and try to discover new technologies. Imagine how advanced we would be: we could already organize several trips to Mars, explore the universe a lot, and create a number of new technologies for use on Earth. NASA doesn't even need that much money, although it just needs more than it has right now. You might see your tax dollars go towards something and actually see results. NASA does nothing but explore space. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about space: they actually do a lot of things and create technologies for America. NASA created a lot of things that were eventually made public for use and are part of our lives. They helped create things for people with disabilities or people who might need help. They created things like infrared ear thermometers, ventricular assist devices, cochlear implants, and artificial limbs. NASA has helped people and imagine how many other things they could create to help people. They have also helped create other things that help the environment such as water purification and solar cells. Which shows how they too are finding a way to improve the environment too. They have also created a number of ways for us to advance our computing technologies and become more modern. There are structural analysis software that helps create thousands of computer programs that help them function and work. They also have a lot of other things that they created that are available in the world today such as gold plating, mine safety, food safety, and powdered lubricants. If they were given more budgetary funds, perhaps they could continue to create things that will help us and maybe even create more things. NASA is planning a big future of exploration events and if they had more money they would be able to complete these missions faster. Insight is their next big mission that involves sending another robot that is supposed to monitor the mares and try to take a look at its internuclear cores and see how the planet might fare. This mission is actually already underway and still continues. Some other amazing missions to Mars have already started or are still in the planning stages. One is called psyche and involves exploring an asteroid orbiting the Sun and Mars to see whether this asteroid might be the dead core of an old planet or whether it might simply be something else. This is expected to happen in 2022, so it's not too far in the future. Another interesting thing is to send a rover to Europa, which is a moon of Jupiter and this moon. They wanted to observe its frozen surface and drill into it to see if they could find any sign of present or past life living there. They don't know when this will happen, they just know that this would be one of the future missions they would like to explore. They also have other missions that talk about trying to mine and utilize asteroid resources. This would prove useful because it would give us access to a completely new way of getting the things we need. We can also look at past mission showing how NASA uses.
