The Martian is about an astronaut named Mark Watney and his crew who land on Mars on a research project for NASA. Mark is a professional biologist and is one of the best in the world working for NASA. When they landed on Mars, unfortunately, a huge windstorm formed and forced Mark to become separated from his crew. His electronic suit recognized that he was dead to his crew but was still alive. Because the windstorm was causing the Space Shuttle to roll over, the crew was forced to take off and leave Mark alone on Mars. Mark was now stranded and had to search for the space shuttle he and his crew were on before, but was pushed many kilometers in a different direction. He only has 365 days of food and needs to last more than double that, so he has to find a way to prepare the food. Mark was the only crew member left, so he had all the food ratios to last him for a while along with all the equipment and suits due to the emergency takeoff. He will have to repair and repair parts like oxygen tanks or electrical boxes to keep him alive, otherwise it could be fatal. Say no to plagiarism. I love how it's very realistic and didn't leave you thinking that it wasn't right or that it's fake. What I didn't like was that they skipped parts of the book and you wouldn't really know what happened in between. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves space or anything to do with science as this book talks a lot about science and how to put it into practice. I wouldn't share this book with someone who doesn't like slow books or very scientific type novels. Overall I really enjoyed this novel and would definitely share it with someone who reads it.
