I know that the United States provides a wonderful opportunity to a less developed state, which is Turkey, in education, but some faculty positions have been filled by many Turkish academics in the United States, who have neither green cards nor US citizenship. These Turkish academics have been working in the US for years only with a work permit visa and renewing it, but they have occupied the positions of American academics. In this way they stole the rights of Americans. This is totally unfair because when Americans or Turkish-Americans try to make their diplomas equivalent to a Turkish diploma, the Turkish government will not grant this equivalence and will place many bureaucratic hurdles to make applicants give up. I am a Turkish-American who has lived in the United States for over a decade. I know how unfairly the Turkish government treats US diplomas.
