Major League Baseball (MLB) has been widely regarded as America's pastime for a long time, however it is now becoming known as the sport tainted by one thing: anabolic steroids. An anabolic steroid is related to the natural steroid, testosterone. They are able to stimulate the growth of muscle tissue. They usually increase muscle mass and strength. MLB has created some of America's most historic icons, like Babe Ruth and Ted Williams. Players like them showed us what it was like to play baseball the right way. They played with passion, heart and above all they had fun playing. Players today in MLB focus too much on becoming the best player to ever play the game. They see what the greats have done before them and want to match them, so they turn to anabolic steroids. An example of this is Alex Rodriguez. In 2003 he tested positive for anabolic steroids because he was “naive” and couldn't handle the pressure of his expectations of being considered the best. He felt the pressure of the game and turned to steroids. Anabolic steroids are ruining the game of baseball. They are polluting the records and changing the rules of the game for the worse. So, Government Reform Committee, I have a resolution to correct this steroid policy and I know you have the power to do so because you changed it in 2005. You were established in 1927 and given the right to investigate the operation of government activities at all levels with the right to determine their economy and efficiency. She was also tasked with serving as the principal investigative committee of the House of Representatives. This means that you are given the authority to conduct hearings that fall under the jurisdiction of Congress. MLB matters are placed solely under the jurisdiction... middle of the paper... they train more for next season. I like the idea of HPAC taking care of programming, and I also like the three ways a test is considered positive. The biggest change that could make players think seriously about taking anabolic steroids revolves around the consequences of taking these drugs. The consequences of taking steroids must be much stronger than they are now. At the first positive test I would like the player to be suspended for an entire season. The loss of a year's salary will hopefully prevent them from using steroids again. If there is a second offense, I believe the player should be banned from MLB for life. Yes, this is much harsher than current politics, but the player cheated in his profession. They were given another chance and they ruined it, so they deserve to receive a lifetime ban.
