There is nothing, in any form, implicit in the glory of cathedrals. These stone colossi are simply glorious in size, design and aesthetic appeal, all integrated into their design plan and play an important role in the growth of faith in Christianity. But what is a Cathedral? By their very nature they are sacred places of worship for Christians. Unlike churches which are basic places of worship suited to fulfilling most of the critical requirements of Christianity, cathedrals are huge places of worship which serve as the headquarters for the local diocese, or districts, of a certain surrounding Christian sect and are also where the Bishops reside. They are one of the holiest places of worship for Christians, but why? They are huge, they are the district headquarters and the Bishop lives there, which seems extremely important; but, unlike any other religion, these holiest places of worship do not necessarily have to have historical significance, a connection to Holy Scripture, or any notable presence of God or a Prophet of God in the past or present. So what makes these cathedrals so holy? The answer is simple: moderately easy accessibility for all Christians to a nearby place that seems to have fallen from the sky, endowed with decorative art, an all-knowing aura and, above all, a staggering size in which they can worship and bask in the glory of their religion. The largest cathedral today is the one built in the 1500s, long before the time of any American president we've ever had. A Roman Catholic cathedral, Seville, also known as Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, resides in Spain. The most notable aspect of this building, besides its size, is that most of the elements inside and... the center of the card... would not have been as successful as they are today.
