I don't think learning specific roles for boys and girls today would do anyone any good. It would leave children no room to grow in themselves. Everyone would be a bit like a robot. Following their specific roles. Some say that the dangerous consequences of stereotypes can cause a person to never reach their full well-being and potential (Srichand, n.d.). Men in our culture are considered muscular, stable, strong and aggressive leaders. In our culture women are supposed to be emotional, sensitive, kind, affectionate, caring, kind and polite followers. We will always find women and men in our culture who are the exact opposite of what is considered normal or could be a mix of both. We have women and men who don't fit into the neat little box of male or female. They may look like one or the other, but they may not feel that way inside (Srichand, n.d.). Anatomically, women and men have fewer differences. Wishes, dreams, desires and fears are desired by all people, women or men. Growing up I was a tomboy and for the most part still am. I never liked dresses or lace, but I always liked to go deep sea fishing and ride motorcycles with the neighborhood kids. I am a happy, married mother of three completely opposite daughters.
