No matter what they do well, we are tasked with building their trust. Popular kids have a good foundation, so in case they encounter someone who says something rude to them, they can shake it off pretty easily. On the other hand we have children who don't start out with as many chips as the normal child. In this case he likens the comparison to a student with learning difficulties.
