Topic > Feminism is not what you want it to be by Emma Teitel

They want to be saved before men are saved in a burning building. Women are not called "creepy" when they approach a man and ask him out, as men usually are. Women are never told to “man up” or “be a man”. Female privilege is being able to decide whether or not you want to have a child, and being able to decide whether or not that child's father should pay child support for the age of eighteen, even if he didn't want the child in the first place. Female privilege is being able to lift your crying skirt to avoid getting a fine if you get stopped. Female privilege is having the choice to marry a rich man and become a stay-at-home mother and not seem like an inadequate parent. When women call the police about a domestic violence problem, they more often than not take their side, even if it was their fault. Women are not forced to work with heavy machinery in factory jobs, while men still have to do so. Female privilege is being able to be thoughtful and empathetic and helpful and not be surprised when she does it. Women have myriad privileges compared to the amount of privileges men enjoy, yet strong-headed feminists continue to see themselves as not having enough rights. This is yet another example of the sexism that feminists impose on men. The problem is that these feminists arrogantly see men as sexist towards them, while they in turn are even more sexist towards them.
