Pop Warner, a youth soccer league, recently limited the amount of time its players can practice full contact. He encouraged his coaches to use more non-contact activities to reduce the chance of potential injuries. As the Chicago Tribune reports, "coaches will now only be allowed full-speed hits - including blocks and one-on-one tackles, lineman contact and scrimmages - for a third of their weekly practice time" (Smith). On November 14, 2013, Pop Warner announced that it lost 23,613 players nationwide from 2010 to 2012, representing a decrease in attendance by 9,5%.
