Randolph mentioned in his speech: “The machinery of government establishes and imposes drastic sanctions; minorities are intimidated and silenced,” revealed how the government has created a scene of perfect loyalty and perfect uniformity of governance. Yet, behind the stage, only those with the most power can speak. No one actually knows the actual cost of the war, but the estimate is high enough that we can pay it off into the next generation. According to the article “The cost of wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan will reach $3.7 trillion,” the author states: “The United States will have spent a total of $3.7 trillion on wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, costing 225,000 lives and creating 7.8 million refugees when the conflicts end.” This is the cost of America's current wars in Iraq. Americans are willing to waste so much on a war while their citizens suffer from many costs, such as medical or college tuition. Furthermore, thousands of people who left their homes to join the war also risk never seeing their families again. Furthermore, the cost of 9/11 is revealed to be “$3 trillion to $5 trillion” and “$600 billion to $900 billion” for disability payments and health care.
