Although the organizational communication literature provides the model, it is silent on what the various types of messages and channels are and their effect on employees. We can glean this information from general communication literature and marketing paradigms. It therefore becomes necessary to look at Organizational Communication from an Internal Marketing perspective. Hypothesis Formation The primary goal of organizational communication is to research and understand the communication process within organizations and then develop ways to improve its mechanisms. To this end, several communication researchers have focused on understanding the barriers to effective communication in organizations. Some of the main barriers identified are interpersonal barriers or personal barriers, one which arises from individual differences and characteristics and the others are systemic barriers or barriers which result as a consequence of the organizational structure, systems and
