Technology is slowly taking over the world. It affects many things, one of which is handwriting. Typing has some advantages over handwriting, but it also has some disadvantages. Cursive is obsolete and typing is more efficient than handwriting in general. However, handwriting has some advantages over typing. Italics were much more common in the past than they are today. According to Remington Korper, cursive was taught before printing. This made it the primary form of writing for students. Some people who had excellent cursive could take it as a job. The first type of italics was Spencerian. This was a very long and laborious write-up. The next type was the Palmer method. This was faster and easier than Spencerian writing.
