Apple began on April 1, 1976 and was incorporated in 1977. The first Apple computer, called the Apple I, was invented by Steven Wozniak. Apple subsequently launched the Macintosh in 1984. Then, a few months after the Macintosh launched, they introduced the LaserWriter, the first post-scripting laser printer sold at an affordable price. In the 1990s Apple decided to ally itself with IBM and Motorola. Their goal was to create a new computing platform for their company. In 1997 Steve Jobs announced that Apple would team up with Microsoft to release new versions of Microsoft Office for the Macintosh. That same year Apple introduced the Apple Store. In 2001 Steve Jobs decided to launch a series of Apple Stores in the United States. Apple reinvented the consumer desktop by launching the flat-panel iMac the following year. In 2003 Apple released iTunes for Windows. Apple has been successful with the many products it has made over the years. The key points for Apple are being sentimental, attention to environmental impact and energy renewal. The first key point I will talk about concerns the environmental footprint. I am able to measure this using a full life cycle analysis. To reduce the amount of carbon footprint they use fewer materials, ship in smaller packaging, don't contain many toxic substances and are as efficient and recyclable as possible. The second key point for Apple is renewable energy: their goal was to reach 100% renewable energy which they achieved. At their data center in Maiden, North Carolina, they have several approaches to designing energy-efficient elements. Two of their energy efficiency projects were a chi...... middle of paper...... position of an innovative sector. My plan will be integrated into the company through staff integration because it is aimed at everyone who works within the Apple company. This will be a positive thing that will help departments work together and increase efficiency.
