Desdemona constantly tries to rationalize Othello's behavior and regularly adds her input to the decisions usually made by a man. Desdemona repeatedly argues with Othello as if there is mutual respect between them. Desdemona shows boldness in the way she argues with Othello about reinstating Michael Cassio to his previous position. “A man who throughout his time/ Has founded his fortune on your love,/ Has shared dangers with you —,” Desdemona asserts (3.4, 2282).
