Topic > Examples of following orders in A Few Good Men

In the movie A Few Good Men this is found in how Lieutenant Corporal Harold W. Dawson did not salute Lieutenant Commander Kaffee as he left the room. This is a sign of disrespect and defiance towards Kaffee. Dawson also defied orders when he brought food to a comrade when he was confined to the barracks alone. He absolutely couldn't leave the barracks, not even get food. Dawson disobeyed orders and brought him food anyway. Does this mean that not all orders given must be followed? Are officers' orders only followed up to a certain point? If this is true, why did Dawson and Downey administer the "code red" to?
