SWOT Analysis: Mc Donald's IndiaSWOT Analysis: A SWOT analysis is commonly used in marketing and general business as a method of identifying opposition to a new venture or strategy. Abbreviation for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that may influence any proposed new action. Here we represent the SWOT analysis report of our proposed initiative. STRENGTHS: • Good taste: The fast food chain operates in many different cultures where food tastes are extremely different from those of US or Indian consumers. Therefore the ability to adapt to local taste is one of McDonald's strengths. • Brand Value: McDonalds has accumulated huge brand value. It is currently India's No. 1 fast food company by sales. McDonald's India is a leader in the food retail space, with a presence of over 310 restaurants serving more than 650,000 customers per day in India. McDonald's image can be recognized everywhere. This brand is among the top ten brands and among the most powerful and best brands in the world. • Operations: The company receives a portion of its revenue from foreign operations. Profits (money) sent to the United States must be converted into dollars which are affected by exchange rates especially when the dollar appreciates against other currencies. WEAKNESSES: • High price: Mc Donald's is no longer able to differentiate itself substantially from fast food chains (at least not enough to gain market share) and chooses to compete on the basis of price rather than additional features. • “Fried” image: Even as McDonalds tries to update its menu by calling it healthy food. For example, there are many dishes with chicken eggs (both grilled and fried). Other than that there are only a few dishes which are salads with vegetables and fruits. Furthermore, the amount of fr...... half of paper ...... is the type of business but as time passed, market conditions changed and local rivals and the evolution of activists were formed and animal protection organizations, so to survive in the Indian market, it should now focus on other aspects like CSR and precautions to avoid getting involved in any act of conspiracy and should change according to the business dynamics of the Indian industry of F&B. Recommendation: We recommend that McDonalds uses Cost leadership strategy as another tool that will help in its expansion. They should focus on increasing the relationship with local suppliers for purchasing raw materials, ingredients, etc. Mc Donald's should provide proper training to its staff to provide high quality customer service. They should stand in solidarity with the local culture by using local festivals and events to promote the McDonald's brand across India.
