Topic > Should space be colonized? - 815

Day after day the Earth's population increases, resources become scarce and the idea of colonizing space comes to mind. However, is it a good idea? Billions of dollars and willing volunteers will be needed to carry out this one-of-a-kind expedition. But who will dare to undertake an adventure like this? How will we do it? If we make the trip, will it be worth it? Also, should we go on this space trip? Personally, I think space travel is not worth it. We have destroyed the Earth beyond our imagination, and we have taken this world even though it is not rightfully ours. If we colonize space, we will only do what we did to Earth: eradicate it like we did to Earth. Resources are running out, but the answer to the problem may be a matter of global distribution. We can produce enough food for the whole world, but a lot of it is wasted, many are still starving, and some die. The alarming side of humans was revealed when World War II began (and even before). Torture and abuse affected innocent lives, and many harmless people suffered and died. In 2006, Paris, France, had a population density of 21,000 people per kilometer2. If everyone lived like this we wouldn't have the problem of living space. How is the Earth rightfully ours? It's not. It belongs to all living creatures on this planet, yet we have the mind to abuse animals and use them to test cleaning products. Is this what we want to happen to a possible space colonization? One of the many reasons humans want to colonize space is extinction. However, the cause of the extinction of humans lies with humans themselves, not with the Earth itself. Greenhouse gases pollute the planet, globa......middle of paper......it's obvious, because we will do nothing but destroy space as we did with the Earth. Do you want to see space get demolished like Earth? By polluting, creating global warming and wasting resources, space will only shrink, even if that is not our intention. Yes, increasing populations, limited resources, possible extinction and the struggle for land will still exist, but there are answers to our problems. If we value nature and animals as Native Americans once did, the problem of limited resources can be solved. We can't prevent an asteroid from colliding with Earth or anything that leads to extinction, but the dinosaurs are dead, so there's a chance we will too. The reason why we think about colonized space is global warming, waste of resources and limitation of territory, but we are the cause of it and we will only devastate space like we did with Earth.
