The use of animals as testing models for scientific research has become one of the serious problems worldwide. According to Procon.org, nearly 26 million animals are used in scientific tests in the United States each year, and more than 10,000 animals have died during these experiments. Many scientists believe that animal testing is necessary because it can help humans develop further scientific research. However, the truth is that many animal experiments usually fail when used on humans. Therefore, animal testing should be banned because human DNA is not similar to that of animals, there are better methods and the animals are right. Proponents of animal testing often argue that somehow, because humans are similar to animals, the truth is that there are other, better ways to get more accurate results. According to the study shown in Alternatives to Animal Testing, there are many different ways to alternate animal testing, such as in vitro, research with human volunteers, and computer modeling. For example, human volunteering is a better method than animal testing. According to news from DailyMail.com, the doctor, who is Sergio Canavero, finds a volunteer, Valery Spiridonov, agreed to undergo head translation surgery. This shows that some people agree to become volunteers to help the study and this not only helps them but also helps other people facing the same disease around the world. Therefore, other methods are accurate compared to animal testing. Animal testing should be banned because there are other better ways and no matter how many times animal testing has been successful, science always tests new drugs on humans after the animal testing is finished. The truth is that animals have rights and humans cannot ignore their rights, never express their mind by speaking. According to the article “Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing”, animal rights are violated when science does research and there are many similar ways between humans and animals, such as feelings and behavior. Even though animals cannot express their opinion, they still feel, think and experience pain. When science uses animals for research, humans must still respect them because of animal rights. Animals have their own opinions that they can't explain, and humans have a duty to protect animal rights. Animal testing should be banned because humans must respect their own minds. In conclusion, animal testing not only violates animal rights, but does not even represent the best path in research. And genes are different between animals and humans. Humans must improve their ways of obtaining scientific experiences and ban animal testing to improve our lives and that of animals’
