As she entered the funeral home, all Amanda could notice were the tear-stained faces, the black costumes of the people, symbolizing the dark time that awaited her, and how everyone they were silent. It was the funeral of Amanda's brother, Jacob Flowers, who had died in a terrible car accident involving a drunk driver. Funeral homes were becoming standing room only because Jacob knew so many people and had impacted many lives in unique ways. Jacob had died at the young age of eighteen, with so much life ahead of him. Amanda stood back and watched the events of the funeral unfold before her eyes. Jacob Flowers was driving late on a dark, humid summer night in mid-June when a drunk driver struck his vehicle. Jacob was driving a red 2010 Ford Mustang with few to no scratches and only about five thousand miles on it. The 40-year-old drunk man was driving a monstrous blue 2011 Ford Super Duty with tons of dents and scratches. Jacob was leaving his niece's softball game when he was hit by the 40-year-old drunk driver on the highway. Jacob was pronounced dead in hospital, while the drunk driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The funeral was supposed to start at ten in the morning and the clock said nine fifty, so the rest of the people who would come to the service were ten minutes away from the start of the commemoration. The funeral home was filling up quickly and there were only about twenty seats left, with many more people expected to arrive. As soon as the clock struck nine fifty-five, about a hundred other people came in looking sullen, sullen and gloomy because their friend or family member was about to be buried. Only about…half of the paper…his family couldn't control their tears. The coffin was made of a beautiful, shimmering black marble material. When they had finished, placing the coffin in the ground, the Pope said: Please all join us in the reception room for lunch. The reception hall owned by the Pope was a scenic palace on the other side of town, but even though the hall WAS on the other side of town, it wasn't difficult to get to that either. When people attending the burial site arrived at the villa, waiters served sandwiches and drinks for lunch. Amanda could choose between a turkey Swiss sandwich or a ham Swiss sandwich with sweet tea, non-sweet tea, or lemonade. Amanda chose a turkey Swiss sandwich with sweet tea and said the food was incredibly delicious. When the people finished eating and were ready to leave, they said goodbye to Jacob's family and left.
