One of the opposing arguments presented is the lack of global warming over the decade, and the Earth's warming data was the result of computer models exaggerating the effects of carbon dioxide. While there is no data showing that the Earth's surface has warmed since 1979, long-term temperature results came from surface weather stations located in urban centers measuring the “urban heat island effect.” So this data would have large errors in the middle. Although computer models are used as major components in forecasting the effects of climate change, they cannot generate all the processes involved, so they are not a reliable resource to depend on. Some even argued that large quantities of carbon dioxide would not harm the Earth and living species, since it is a colorless and odorless gas that constitutes the main part of the living cycle. While the concentration of carbon dioxide contributed to better plant growth, animals also grew better. Therefore, carbon dioxide is not considered a pollutant as it is beneficial and is a key component for the Earth. Instead, they thought that water vapor, the most important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, might be responsible for about 98 percent of the warming process. Also,
