Advertising, what is it? Advertising is a method used to market a product or anything else, such as AA meetings, a yard sale, etc. Advertising is mainly used to influence a specific audience or all the audience to buy the produced product. For example, my product advertises Reebok and focuses on people who play American football. The advertisement uses the testimonial method* to advertise Reebok. The purpose of advertising is to market a product or anything else to a particular audience or any audience. Another purpose of advertising is to convince people to buy the product so that you get more money. A third goal is to make the company a bigger name by getting more buyers. For example, the purpose of my advertisement is to convince any American football player to buy Reebok. I think advertising is necessary from a business owner's point of view. Because your company needs buyers to thrive and without advertising you will have fewer buyers, which will slow down your company's growth. But in my opinion I don't think advertising is necessary because we can live with fewer products. It might even be better without commercials because TV shows and basketball games would air continuously without commercial interruptions. For example, my ad advertises Reebok, but I don't need it, I can live with slippers or nothing at all; however wearing a pair of Reebok shoes would be more comfortable. I think advertising is the right choice. When something is advertised, it doesn't mean you have to buy it, but it is giving you a choice. For example, my ad tries to convince me to buy Reebok, but only gives me one choice from my many activewear choices.
