Topic > Compare and Contrast Fascism and Communism - 1085

Fascism, although to a much greater extent, communism is not considered evil in every part of the legal world. So in this sense slavery in general must be a much worse evil than such systems of fascism and communism. But looking at Greek slave society, it seems that the lines between slaves and lower-class citizens were often blurred, and each class appeared remarkably identical to one another. Therefore, although Greece may have had significantly more slaves than other countries in that time period and in future time periods, the lines between free citizens and slaves were much more blurred. One might therefore argue that such a system was fairer than what many other countries had at the time. In this sense, to compare classical Greek civilization to fascism and communism, one should consider that most other civilizations of past eras also bear similarities to communism and fascist states. America itself should have been compared to evil as a communist system since slavery in America was considered a permanent title for African Americans and based on hatred and belief of inferiority of Africans.
