For most of high school, I never really had to try. This became a big issue for me as I entered senior year considering my college path beyond high school. DE English was the medicine I needed for my lack of commitment. The higher level work required by the class was exactly what I was looking for. The course load was a great model to help me prepare for college. Additionally, time management, from class work to those latest rounds of golf, has helped me manage my time wisely. I needed the drive, perseverance, and will to be a successful writer, as well as a successful student. The most life-changing thing I have experienced from taking this course is the improvement it has given me in further developing my work ethic. Before I signed up for this class, I always had the mindset that I could get an A if I turned in minimal work. When I started taking this course, the alarm in my mind went off and I woke up, realizing that I had technically started university and that I needed to start working that way. Dual enrollment English 111 has improved my work ethic, a necessity to be a successful person at all times
