Different musical genres around the world have been shaped in many ways by influences such as; historical and traditional roots, people and their culture, migration, globalization, politics and commodification. Nueva Canción is an example of a genre of world music that has been influenced in these ways and which has a strong historical and political history worthy of recognition.
