An advantage is knowing that after death life does not stop at death, but there is an afterlife. So Christians know that there is an afterlife and they do not fear death because they know that they will be in heaven with God. Another benefit of the Christian faith is that we can be forgiven of our sins. The Christian ethic for forgiveness is a very important foundation (Fiala, 2012). In order for God to forgive Christians, Christians will have to forgive others. When Christians forgive, this means they let go of grudges and do not define their lives by how they were hurt (Jarman, 2011). It can sometimes be difficult for Christians to understand how they can forgive someone who has wronged them, no matter what they have done. But Christianity influences people's behavior when they are ready to forgive. They also want to do it because it pleases God and they want to please him. This is the unconditional love that God shows them and wants them to pass that love on to other people. Reflection As a Christian I am still growing in my faith. I still don't understand things. And I still look to God for answers. But I pray to Him. I try to live a Christian path as much as possible. When someone hurts me, I forgive them even though it can be hard to do sometimes. But I know this is what God wants me to do. I make God a part of my life from the little things to the big things. I know that because God is powerful, there is nothing He can't handle. I hope, by following God, that one day I will be with him. This gives me great joy and makes me want to serve him.
