The people who didn't like the passage of this law had their reasons. Some of the disadvantages they found were that the marriage was traditionally known as a marriage between a man and a woman. Marriage is for procreation and should not be granted to people of the same sex as they cannot produce children together. They believe that children need both a mother and a father, and that motherless children will not have that emotional connection and will cause confusion in children. Furthermore, a child needs a father figure in his life to gain confidence and be eager to explore his surroundings. Another downside they say could come from legalizing gay marriage is the possibility that other types of religions, such as people who don't believe in God or any non-traditional religion that is related, will want the right to marry. Homosexuality is not seen as natural and correct. It is not the word of God and the beliefs of people
