Topic > The Magnetic Fields of the Magnet - 1704

Introduction:Magnetism was not studied or used before 1821 as it is today. A few hundred years ago people understood how magnets worked, but they didn't know many applications because they were limited by the technology of their time. Magnet applications today have opened a new door on how we can harness the power of a magnet. I had a basic working knowledge of how magnets worked, such as polarity, but by researching different aspects of the magnet I learned that we need to advance the potential capabilities of the magnet and fully understand how we can harness it. In my research I looked at how a magnet works, the physics behind a magnet, the Earth's magnetic fields, why magnets cannot be used as energy, and magnets to relieve pain. Earth's Magnetic Field: During the times of the ancient Greeks discovered stones that had the ability to attract metals such as iron, which is believed to be electrically magnetized iron. They began experimenting with rocks they had discovered that were magnetized and discovered that when they rubbed the stone against another piece of metal, it also became magnetized. The Chinese later used this technology and adapted it to what is now known as a compass, finding that it pointed to the north and south directions. William Gilbert then posed the question: What if the entire Earth was magnetic? Suppose the Earth acquired its magnetic fields from electrical motion and current from the molten core (Nave, R). The magnetic field of the Earth is directly attributed to the “Dynamo Effect”, this definition explains the origin of the main magnetic field of the Earth, and its creation through the movement of the fluid within Ea...... in the center of paper.... ..eating for pain, but in minor cases may help some individuals recover more quickly (NCCIH.NIH). For further uses of magnets in the medical field, the NCCIH is researching the integration of magnets into new contemporary applications to help relieve pain. Conclusion: Magnets had a slow and humble beginning but quickly took off, the discovery of their ability to be influenced and influence the electrical currents around them. There have been attempts to use them in conventional and unconventional ways, from energy conversion to pain relief. We have learned that since they are unable to generate their own energy, we cannot use them as an energy source but can in fact use them for energy conversions. I believe that further studies in the field of magnets will reveal further applications of magnets in the future and most likely the application of magnets as an energy source.
