On a bright sunny morning Hazel rose early to prepare breakfast for her daughter Willow. Today was a big day for both of us, as Willow was going to her first day of daycare. Hazel wasn't sure how she felt about taking Willow to daycare. Willow, on the other hand, was full of excitement. He talked all morning about how he was going to meet new friends, learn letters, numbers and draw pictures. Not only that, he couldn't wait to play with the new playground equipment. Even if parents want their children to stay at home with them, it is more beneficial to have them attend a daycare center. Daycare reduces boredom as children have other children to interact with. At home a child may sit alone watching television or playing video games day after day. If they have nothing else to do they can eat just to pass the time. At nursery they can have adventures on educational trips. The best part about daycare is that children can visit nursing homes, pumpkin patches, and the community pool. In the nursing home, children will be able to play and carry out many different activities with the elderly residents. Hay rides, corn mazes and pumpkin picking are just a few of the many things a kindergartener can do with his friends in the pumpkin patch. Jumping into the water, learning to stay afloat and going underwater are just some of the ways the pool can help them overcome their fears. Another thing they do at daycare is the staff person will take them on little walks around town. They can interact with different environments and see and learn new things in their hometown. Apart from this, children can go outdoors where they can explore nature and have fun. Besides not being bored, d...... middle of paper ...... couldn't wait to know everything. Willow started by saying how much she loved it and couldn't wait to go back the next day. She told her mother about her new friends Lilly, Riley, and Anna. Excitedly she said: “Mom, you will never believe it, but I ate ants on a log for a snack!” “But really, it was just celery with peanut butter and raisins, and it was amazing!” She was thrilled when asked what she had learned, she told Hazel she could count her numbers, write her name and how to introduce herself to new people. Willow's eyes lit up when she told her mother that she had gone down the very high slide twice. Then Willow said, "I love you, Mom, for bringing me here." Hazel then realized how much Willow liked daycare and thought it was a fabulous idea to send her there. Even if parents want their children to stay at home, it is important for them to attend a daycare center.
