Guns and Violence School shootings, gang violence, shootings, murders and thousands of acts of violence are committed every day. Members of our society criticize their own people for this violence while they continue to sit back and do nothing about it. These acts of violence have many contributing factors. Violence in our country today is increasing because we do not control the distribution of weapons sold. There are not enough restrictions on guns sold legally. The illegal purchase of guns through the black market is out of control. There is not enough education on the use and storage of weapons. There are not many restrictions on the distribution of weapons. The guns are sold to anyone eighteen years of age or older. There is another restriction; It's called the waiting period. Anyone willing to wait three to five days to receive their gun can purchase one. The government enforced this law to give the person who is buying the gun time to calm down or come to a solution other than violence. The fact that there are few restrictions on purchasing weapons leads to much bigger problems. Problems like school shootings. Many people do not store their weapons properly and this allows children to come into contact with these weapons. This often leads to violence.
