In today's world, disciplines associated with economics have fundamental meaning and application and this encouraged me to pursue a degree in Economics. The economy has an important relevance in the lives of all of us. As consumers we try to make the most of our limited incomes. As workers we take our place in the labor market. As citizens of a country, our lives are affected by our government's decisions: decisions about taxes, decisions about spending on health and education, decisions about interest rates, decisions that affect unemployment, inflation, and growth. As inhabitants of planet Earth we are influenced by each other's economic decisions: the air we breathe, the water we drink and the environment we leave for future generations are all influenced by the economic decisions made by the human race. It is these challenging questions that excite me about economics. I really enjoy studying Economics and believe that my passionate interest in economics is continually strengthened by my regular reading of "The Economist". University has always attracted me for its wealth of experiences...
